VIDEO: 2 x E92 M3s drifting @ Monza

April 25, 2012 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - Drifting

We don’t usually post many ‘standard’ cars on here, but this video is simply too cool! Aside from a killer location and two £20K+ M3s drifting side by side, just listen to that noise – high-revving V8s are a thing of beauty! Apparently the orange E92 runs an Akrapovich full titanium exhaust which costs the best part of £2000. Worth every penny? You bet. Crazy to see how competitive these relatively standard cars are.

VIDEO: Matsuri Missile Madness

If you’re a die-hard drift fan, you should be fully aware of the term ‘missile’. It’s basically a drift carbuilt purely for practice or going that little bit faster without risking thousands of pounds worth of damage! So long as it drives (and it’s mechanically sound) a missile can be as dented, scraped and bent as you like… providing it’s been damaged from drifting and not just crashing up the local Tesco car park.

We’ve brought you a few galleries in the past – everyone loves galleries, especially when it’s showcasing such a fine product as Rota Wheels! Seeing stuido-shot wheels is all good, but it doesn’t give you a true indication of just how your car looks with a set fitted (taking size and offsets into consideration). So our good friends at Driftworks put together a little thread for Rota Wheel owners to post up their cars along with fitment info. Check ‘em out below and feel free to send us your snaps!

Rota sponsored: Driftworks S15

February 01, 2011 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - Builds, Drifting

Here at Rota, we’re proud to sponsor so many of the UK’s competing Drift cars including one of the most extreme competing – the Driftworks Nissan S15. Originally built back in 2007, the Driftworks S15 has been through multiple exterior ‘tweaks’ but it’s latest guise as used throughout 2010 is without doubt the most evil – black on black utilising a set of monster 18x12in Rota GTR-Ds!

The Art & Soul of BDC

November 08, 2010 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - Drifting

Someone once described drifting to us as ‘kind of like figure skating, but with cars!’ It certainly can be like watching art in motion. This video by Stephen Brooks, however, really does capture the true beauty of drifting. Not just the cars, but even better, Brooksie has managed to portray the amazing atmosphere that is the British Drift Championship. The spirit and skill of the people involved in this ever-evolving scene is here in the medium of short video. And you know what? We’re proud to see so many cars running Rota! Plug in your speakers, turn it up loud, and try to stop the hairs on the back of your neck from standing up!

Rota x Driftworks

We never get bored of looking at Phil Morrison’s E46 M3. It’s currently undergoing a mentalist V10 engine swap. Here it is, before it got torn apart, sitting aggressively over a set of Rota Grid wheels measuring 18×10-inch (ET15) all round with 265/35×18 and 245/35×18 Federal RSR track tires. Lovely stuff. If you want wheels for your BMW, then drop us a line. We have huge stock ready and waiting for shipment direct to your door.

Marmite – Your hate or your mate?

When it comes to dividing opinion, Ross at Dragon Performance manages to do it time and time again. Fast Car Magazine has recently been down to Dragon’s workshop with legendary photographer Jamie Lipman to bag this killer shoot. Full feature coming you way soon. What do you think of this ride? It’s a proper Marmite motor, but we absolutely love the crazy thing packing the positively insane 18×12-inch Rota GTR-Ds out back. Want a set? Then give us a call!
